Original British Airways Business Class Cabin, G-BYGG
The flight deck is only half of what is here. Climb a section of the original staircase and you step into the complete Upper Deck Business Class cabin of G-BYGG, the last Boeing 747 British Airways ever took delivery of. Beyond it, the Hangar holds original parts of the aircraft at a scale you can only appreciate standing next to them.
British Airways took delivery of 92 Boeing 747s across three decades. G-BYGG was the last of them, delivered in April 1999 and flying her first commercial service the same month.
Her entire Upper Deck seated cabin is installed here, rows 60 to 64, complete with the Club World Business Class seats that convert to fully flat beds. This is the cabin passengers chose their routes around, boarded by the same staircase, in the same seats.
G-BYGG's cabin was saved from being cut up alongside the rest of the retired fleet. Read how both aircraft were preserved and brought to Cheshire.

The Hangar
The Hangar is where the scale of the aircraft becomes real. You walk between parts of a Boeing 747 that passengers never saw, and that most people only ever see from a distance of several hundred feet.
A Rolls-Royce RB211 engine inlet cowling. A complete nose landing gear assembly, standing at the height it sat beneath the aircraft on the stand. A section of wing. A section of fuselage still carrying the British Airways livery.
Alongside them sits the crew rest area, the compartment where flight crew slept on long-haul sectors, and which almost no passenger ever set eyes on. A presentation area gives space for talks and screenings.
None of this is reproduction. Every piece came off a retired 747, and up close each one explains the engineering in a way no photograph manages.
