Take control of an original former British Airways B747-400 flight deck and experience simulated flight, with a trained operator / co-pilot to offer one-to-one guidance.

We offer two shorthaul experiences - 90 mins and 150 mins.

Whether you have always wanted to fly a commercial airliner or you are looking for a gift that will genuinely surprise someone, 744 Experience is unlike anything else you can book in the UK.

  • Board via the full-seated section of our original Upper Deck Business Class cabin

  • Customise your destination, flight time, route and weather conditions

  • Choose your departure / arrival from multiple international airports

  • Experience engines start-up, push back, taxi, take-off, climb, cruise, descent, landing and shutdown, all simulated within our original and fully operational former British Airways B747-400 cockpit. You may like to come prepared with an idea of which airports and/or scenic areas you would like to experience, but it is not essential

What Happens Next?

We will contact all ‘booked’ customers in sequence of ticket number to arrange their experience dates. There will be a choice of morning or afternoon slots, on weekdays and weekends.

When confirming your experience dates, we’ll ask you for the number of ‘flying’ guests and non-flying guests. 4 is the maximum number of guests on one booking (the sim time slot is divided by the number of guests wishing to ‘fly’).

Once the date and time of your 744 Experience is confirmed, a Boarding Card will be emailed to you. At this time we will send a brief for arrival on the day.

On the day of your booking, please arrive at least 15 mins before the booked time slot with your Boarding Card (and no earlier than 30 mins before). Please wear comfortable, flat-soled shoes (no heels or sandals).

744 Experience is open throughout the year, excluding Bank Holidays.

Customers are encouraged to book for the longest time slots that budget will allow to fully appreciate all that is on offer - including our complete Upper Deck Business Class seated cabin, collection of Boeing 747-400 parts/accessories and our location in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. 

Prices include a sim operator/instructor throughout. Just select the time slot that most suits your wishes.

Pre-booking is essential. 744 Experience is located on private property and entry is only possible with a pre-booked and confirmed time-slot / boarding card. Entry will be refused to anyone arriving without a confirmed time-slot.

Important Information

  • The recommended minimum age is 12 years, although this is more of a guideline than a strict rule. What matters more is the child. A session lasts at least ninety minutes in a real flight deck. If your child is younger and you think they would love it, call us before you book and we will work out together whether it is right for them.

  • Time slots can be booked for individuals, or split for small groups of up to x 4 people.

    For example 90 min time slot / 2 adults = 30 mins sim time each, or 4 adults = 15 mins sim time each

    150 min time slot / 2 adults = 60 mins sim time each, 4 adults = 30 mins sim time each

    Once booked, the start / finish times of your session will be strictly adhered to, so please be sure to arrive at least 15 mins before your time slot (and no earlier than 30 mins before).


    If you already hold a voucher, we recommend that you book your time slot at least 6 months before the expiry date on your voucher.

  • 744 Experience strives to be open and accessible to all. For those with mobility impairments, access to the Hangar and Upper Deck is step-free. However for access to the cockpit, wheelchair users must be able to make their way unaided from the narrow entrance at the cockpit door to the front cockpit seats.
